User guide

The programs of the IDNV software group have been developed to handle large quantities of data. They are easy and logical to use and offer flexible editing and searching possibilities. The following information will give you an insight into the most important functions of the IDNV. You can obtain detailed descriptions within the IDNV membership.

User interface

The IDNV programs' user interface has a clear structure and can be configured according to the user's requirements.

The IDNV data can be used in the tab pages and in the sub-windows. The data can be viewed either as a list structured in fields that can be displayed or hidden, made larger or narrower and can be moved to a different place, or in individual windows.

Action: Open a database in a window

Databases

The core of the IDNV is the data that is stored in different thematical databases within the programs.

The databases can be used with the tab pages available at the top of the program; they can be displayed or hidden where necessary. In addition, each database can be opened in an individual window which makes it possible to view the different databases at the same time. As it is possible to open one database in different windows, different tasks can be solved at the same time in this one database .

Use of IDNV data

It is possible to view the IDNV data in form of a list as well as in a separate window. Depending on the goal of work, it is possible to continuously select and sort data with the searching, sorting and selecting functions.

In the program version IDNV-Master, data can be edited in separate item windows as well as in the list. The most important editing functions are available as buttons at the bottom of the program. Different additional functions such as the possibility of changing several items at a time make it possible to edit the data in a particularly efficient way.

Searching for data

You can search for data in the so-called search fields by entering different criteria. Each data field has a corresponding search field that can be used on its own or in combination with other search fields. A search starts automatically as soon as a character has been entered in one of the search fields.

It is possible, with the flexible criteria to slowly approach a potential result, particularly if the concrete target of the search has not been defined. You can start a search with as general criteria as possible and then refine it. The intermediate results indicates which criteria you can change or complete.

at the top of each column.

Sorting data

The IDNV data can be sorted with the sorting buttons (field name buttons) at the top of each column, that can be used individually or in combination with others. Once a sort button has been activated, all the data in the corresponding field will be sorted according to the content. With this, it is also possible to define the order (ascending or descending).

Sorting the data is helpful in many ways. Ordering the data in a particular way can make comparing specific items easier; for editing tasks, sorting the data can help correcting and improving the quality of the data.

are used to sort the data.

Data selection

The option of data selection is a function completing searching for data and sorting it. It offers the possibility of displaying or hiding particular items and therefore of obtaining an even more specific selection of data. You can use the data selection function by hiding the data, which for example might have appeared during a search but which is not relevant to your purpose.

Another possibility in order to create a particular item list is to use a barcode scanner that can be connected to any of the IDNV programs.

A current selection of items can be saved in an external file and be loaded again at a later stage.

vor
Action: Select data - You can display a particular selection of data alone
or hide non relevant data from the list.

Data exchange

All the IDNV programs are equiped with the data exchange facility which ensures that the IDNV data is constantly up-to-date. With this, the participating publishers are able to make their own data available to the retailers and the retailers are able to send their orders directly to the appropriate publishers.

The data exchange can be executed via a clearly structured dialog window in which all the individual steps can be defined and supervised. The data transfer itself happens via the internet, protected by a specially developed security standard.

Training seminars

The IDNV programs main functions can be mostly used intuitively and it is easy to start using them. Moreover, the IDNV software contains many other functions that make work procedures easier and making the use of the IDNV even more comfortable.

In connection with our service related to the IDNV, we offer training seminars during which basic ways of use and background knowledge as well as detailed methods of use for advanced users are communicated. If you are interested in taking part in our training seminars, please contact us.
